Edward Fox-Doyle acclaimed Artist based in Inistioge, Co Kilkenny, Ireland
Edward Fox Doyle works mainly in representational style but from a unique viewpoint. Born In Dublin in the late forties he always had a keen interest in painting and has been exploring his technique for over fifteen years.
The paintings are vibrant and colourful using a mixture of oils, acrylics and inks. The subjects are inspired by his imagination and sparks from a memory.
Following the old Parisien tradition of painting on any surface that presents itself, Edward uses a mixture of surfaces from paper to canvases, cardboard or wood, with interesting results. The absence of movement or life form in his paintings lend a quiet tranquility which is refreshing in a constantly busy, moving world.
Edward concentrates on the natural surrounding and changing lights. His vision can move swiftly and smoothly from an arid landscape to a dry autumn field, onto a moonlight marshland or back to an African sunset.
The scenes can be ‘what ever you want them to be!’ His colour palates are uplifting and a joy to the spirit.
Edward Fox-Doyle impacted on the art world with a refreshment not experienced in some time. His work is memorable and unique. He has had resounding success during 2008 where his works have been acquired by collectors and the professions, all noting that ‘he is the one to watch’.
He sold very successfully on the fringe of the Kilkenny Arts Festival, 2007 and 2008 and also a sell-out October 2008 exhibition in the Woodstock Heritage Museum, Kilkenny. He has also had private exhibitions in Houston, Texas and in Cape Town, South Africa plus repeated commissions from private clients.
